Introduction

This is NOT recommended reading, but an “about” section is almost obligatory, hence these words.

My name is Jamie (as if that wasn’t readily apparent). I’m from Northern New York. Quite out of the way, but life here is actually pretty exciting. You might ask, “Exciting!?” Well, yes. That said, not necessarily because of location; God is moving up here, and if there is anything I don’t want to miss it’s God.

I heard a prayer many years ago, and it has been a prayer of mine since: “God, do not pass me by.” I want Jesus. And fortunately for me, Jesus is pretty crazy for me too. Not that I am the single object of His desire, Jesus’ number one priority is His Bride.

And He is preparing His bride in conspicuous ways up here in Madrid, NY. Lives are being transformed. The power of God to save is familiar. Stay tuned, I’ll probably write along these lines from time to time.

Continued Ramblings About Me

I’m a technophile. Yes, I’m a geek and happy to be so. My particular interests mostly concern web programming (preferably a LAMP environment and any modern web browser).

In addition to being a computer geek of sorts, I’m a political geek. I must confess, modern politics often bores/frustrates me—my political vice: I’m an idealist. However, I am almost always up for a discussion about political/economic theory. I lean minarchist/capitalist, but I’ll consider pretty much anything for a good discussion.

I also enjoy philosophy…mostly as it relates to making sense of life. I’m a theist; apologetics interests me greatly—particularly the existence of God. That said, one ought not live life simply considering the existence of God. I have found Jesus. A natural question that follows is, “How then ought I to live?”

Jesus is more than just a set of ideas, He is a person. As much as I’m interested in pondering and challenging ideas others and I have come upon, I want to spend time with Jesus to hear His ideas…and more than just hearing His ideas, as we behold Him we are changed (2 Cor. 3:18). Thus, I encourage others and myself to do more than just listen for ideas: spend time with Jesus because it changes you!
